Data Import into DBA

JES has been designing, writing and supporting manufacturing and distribution software since 1977.

We have specialized since 1996 in helping DBA users all over the country with hundreds of imports of their existing data into DBA.

A quick explanation can save you hours. What does a typical import cost? When should and when shouldn’t your import? Which accounting packages are easy? Which are complex? How much is it going to cost you? How long will it take?
We have developed programs that let us do in minutes what originally took many hours. Our experience and use of these programs saves you time and money.

We can import information not allowed for by standard DBA Importing: Open Orders and Invoices, POs, Price Lists, Tax Tables, just about anything.

We also have tools that will make your import into DBA easier even if you don’t use our services.

Please contact us for an introduction to DBA Import.

We have done hundreds DBA imports of one complexity or another for a wide variety of DBA users.

There are a wide variety of factors that influence the cost of an import:

How many modules do you wish to import?

Standard Custom Imports

For Example: Quick Books does not use customer or vendor codes.
DBA does.
We have developed programs to build, in minutes, various kinds of codes depending on your preferences.
For Example: Some programs store City, State and Zip in a single field. This is not good practice generally.
DBA separates these fields as they should be.
This can be simple or difficult depending on the consistancy of your data: is the state CA, Ca, CA., Ca., Calif, Calif., California, Cal, Cal.? All of these must be accounted for.
We have already developed programs that strip these out in the blink of an eye.

Statement from DBA:

When we started developing DBA eight years ago, our goal was to create a PC-based accounting package designed for small and medium sized job shops, manufacturers, and distributors. Until DBA your only choice was either low-end or midrange generic accounting systems or high-end manufacturing systems, neither of which fits the needs or budgets of our typical customer.

Since our first release we have continually expanded DBA's functionality with a steady stream of new modules and features. Our large and growing customer base provides us with valuable product feedback and suggestions that we have used to tailor DBA to meet the needs of our target customers. With DBA you don't just get a one-time product - our low cost annual license fee entitles you to updates and all future versions of the system at the lowest cost of ownership we know of for our category of software.  Top, Back, Next, (Info)

If you click on Send Product Info or call JES Computer Systems at 888-Fox-Pros, we will send you an information pack which includes a demo disk, specification sheets, report writer information, and our Manufacturing Management booklet.

If you are a job shop, manufacturer, or distributor and want an accounting system truly optimized for your type of company, we hope you give DBA serious consideration and join our growing family of customers.

What is DBA?
Small Business System

DBA is a small business software package marketed in the same category as popular products such as Business Works(R), QuickBooks(R) and Peachtree(R). Unlike those packages, however, DBA offers far more than just accounting and includes many additional modules and features that address the unique needs of manufacturers and job shops.

Complete Manufacturing Functionality

You will be pleased to find DBA fully comparable in functionality to mid and high-end manufacturing packages costing tens of thousands of dollars, yet without the complexity that makes those systems so difficult to learn and use.

Stand-Alone Capability

DBA can be used as a stand-alone system that functions alongside any accounting system or as part of an integrated system with DBA Accounting. This enables you to implement manufacturing first without the added burden of converting accounting at the same time. You can optionally integrate with DBA Accounting or continue indefinitely using your existing accounting system.

Open System

Unlike other small business packages, DBA comes with open source code so that it can be modified for special requirements and can easily support third party add-on products that enhance the usefulness of the core product.

Growth Path

Unlike other small business systems that can only accommodate a handful of users, DBA can handle up to 100 users and can therefore grow with your company for life. As an added bonus, all companies that purchase the current DBA system this year receive a lifetime option to upgrade to our upcoming "Innovation Series" at no charge.

Affordable

As you would expect from a small business system, DBA offers you a suite of integrated modules for a low per-user single-package price. At $399 per user -- and only $299 and $199 at the 10 and 25 user levels -- DBA is affordable for any size company. In contrast to the high maintenance fees of most manufacturing systems, with DBA a low $75 per user annual license fee covers the cost of product updates and is your only ongoing cost other than any phone support you may need. (Check prices at DBA web site below.)

You can see that DBA is in a completely different price category than mid-range software packages by clicking on the Software Pricing Chart from Accounting Software News.

Widely Used

As the number one selling small business software package for manufacturers and job shops, DBA is sold in volume, which means it is widely used and supported by the DBA technical support staff as well as a large number of independent consultants who provide local training and implementation assistance.

Safe Choice for Small Business

Not only are mid and high-end manufacturing systems overly complex for the needs of small business, but the selection process can be an intimidating and frustrating experience sorting through proposals and presentations. DBA takes the worry out of the process because it offers you a low-risk choice that has helped thousands of small businesses just like yours.
